Colin Cowherd Thinks 1 NFL Team Needs To 'Move On' From Its Starting Quarterback
Colin Cowherd has never been shy to share his NFL opinions for everyone to see.
During Friday's edition of The Herd, Cowherd made his argument for why it's time for the Minnesota Vikings to part ways with Kirk Cousins after they dropped to 0-2 on Thursday night.
"As a student, you can get A's on all the midweek tests but if you get a C on the midterm and the final, that's who you are," Cowherd said. "Things are weighted differently. The NFL forms opinions on you based on playoff games, big TV games, and standalone games."
"Tom Brady was dialed in for the big ones. Joe Burrow has had some stinkers, but he's good when the bright lights are on. Patrick Mahomes' playoff passer rating is higher than his regular season passer rating. Cousins' 1:00 games is Peyton Manning. Since he's played in the NFL, his record against teams who make the playoffs that year is 12-38. That's who he is."
Cousins is in the final year of his contract with the Vikings so there's a chance they move on next year.
That said, Cousins hasn't been the reason for the Vikings' struggles this season. In their first two games, he has thrown for 708 yards and six touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Regression from last year in other areas has hit the team a lot harder than some expected.
The Vikings will try and get their first win of the season next weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers.
