Frank Reich and the Indianapolis Colts made a change to their coaching staff on Thursday morning.

The Colts' season ended in ugly fashion. They had to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18 to advance to the playoffs. Easy enough, right? Wrong. The Colts fell to the Jaguars in blowout fashion, 26-11, and missed out on the postseason entirely.

Reich has began making changes to his coaching staff, as a result. On Thursday morning, he fired defensive line coach Brian Baker.

This probably wasn't an easy decision for Frank Reich. He and Brian Baker were close.

"Frank Reich hasn't made a ton of staff changes in his tenure, aside from when coaches move on to other jobs. And Baker is someone Reich he has ties with dating to their days as players at Maryland. Probably a tough decision for him. But the pass rush was undeniably underwhelming," wrote Stephen Holder of The Athletic.

Change is a necessary step for a Colts team that should have gone to the playoffs this season. Expect Thursday's coaching move to be the first of several Reich makes this offseason.
