Through his first two games with the Detroit Lions, Jared Goff has been playing some of the best football of his young career. While his play hasn't translated into a win yet, he's earned high praise from head coach Dan Campbell.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Campbell praised Goff for playing with "a high level of confidence" recently. Campbell said that while Goff does need to reduce the turnovers (of which he's had several), he's made some good throws in Detroit that he doesn't recall seeing with the Rams.

“He really has after the last two weeks,” Campbell said, via the ProFootballTalk. “And look, you can’t excuse the turnovers, but if you take those away, he would’ve given us a chance to win (on Monday). He made some pretty dang good throws and he improvised a little bit, which you didn’t necessarily always see that at the Rams. So that was encouraging to us.”

Goff has completed 68.8-percent of his passes for 584 yards and five touchdowns through two games. He leads the NFL in passing attempts, but has two interceptions and one lost fumble.

Thanks to Jared Goff, the Detroit Lions currently rank in the top 15 for offense - an improvement over last year thus far.

But their defense is giving up over 30 points per game so far. They need more than Jared Goff to step up if they want to improve over last year's 5-11 record.

How good will Jared Goff and the Lions be this year?
