Danny Kanell Reveals Bold Prediction For College Football Playoff

Former Florida State football quarterback Danny Kanell, a consistent troll of Miami football, speaks on FS1.

We're four weeks into the 2021 college football season and many teams have already seemingly been eliminated from College Football Playoff contention. But after the craziness of yesterday, CBS Sports analyst Danny Kanell believes this year will be a little different.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Kanell predicted that this College Football Playoff will feature its first-ever two-loss team participating. Most people are quickly assuming he means Clemson, who suffered their second loss of the season against NC State last night.

"I really think we get our first two loss team in the college football playoff....." Kanell tweeted. His tweet already has dozens of supplies, mostly rejecting his prediction.

Clemson has the longest active streak of College Football Playoff appearances. They've made each of the last six tournaments, making the title game four times and winning two.

But by that same token, the ACC champion has made every edition of the tournament so far. Florida State made it in 2014 after going 13-0 and winning the ACC title. Clemson has won every ACC title since.

If Clemson win out from here, they still need NC State to lose two games in order to qualify for the ACC Championship Game.

It's rare that the Clemson Tigers don't control their own destiny. But if there's any team that could buck the trend of no two-loss teams making the College Football Playoff, it may be Clemson.
