Browns Star Calls Out Ravens Player For 'Cheap Shot' During Game
Cleveland Browns defensive back Denzel Ward wasn't too happy with Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley after their game last weekend.
Ward was asked if the blindside hit from Stanley was a cheap shot and he didn't say no.
Yeah, I kind of felt it was a little cheap shot,” Ward said, via Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot. “He got me. I felt it was an unnecessary hit and probably could have been a penalty on the play, but I mean it’s football, stuff happens. It’s all good. I don’t wish no bad on nobody. But, yeah, I got got, so it’s all good.”
Video of the play shows Ward trying to wrap up Zay Flowers when Stanley came in like a wrecking ball.
He was later asked if he'd fight Stanley - but he knows that would be a bad idea.
“No, man. Like I said, I don’t wish no bad on nobody, man,” Ward said. “I’m just glad we got the win. That’s the main focus. And just hate I couldn’t be out there though for my guys that game, but they did a great job. Find a way to get the win and did that.”
Cleveland walked out with a 33-31 win despite trailing 31-17 in the fourth quarter.
