When Pat McAfee first announced that he was moving his show to ESPN many were skeptical that his show wouldn't be popular with ESPN's audience. Fast forward just four weeks and it's clear that the skeptics were wrong.

According to ESPN PR, the Pat McAfee Show boasted a whopping 242 million viewers across all platforms between September 7 and September 29. The more specific data is equally impressive.

  • ESPN reported an average of 1.4 million viewers per show across their linear stations and YouTube.
  • The most-watched episode was their September 15 show, which had 1.9 million views across linear and YouTube.
  • Clips from the shows totaled 213 million cumulative views.
  • Viewers averaged 44.5 minutes of watch time per day

Granted, many new shows post superb numbers initially before falling into more of a groove. But if the Pat McAfee Show is poised to trend further upward on ESPN, the partnership is off to an incredible beginning.

McAfee himself was thrilled with the numbers. He thanked ESPN for the opportunity and said he's proud of everyone who's been a part of it.

“To be rather transparent, I’m not sure any of us had any certainty of how this particular report was gonna be when this all started a month ago,” McAfee said in a statement. We had hopes that a massive new audience provided by ESPN would give our show a chance and ESPN had hopes of us helping with the transition into the new multi platform generation of daily sports entertainment. I’m proud of my guys for their work and very thankful for ESPN’s belief in us because I do believe these numbers are telling us all that we’re off to a rather good start. We appreciate everything and everybody. We’re pumped about the continued possibilities on ESPN’s phenomenal platform. Cheers.”
