Last night's highly-anticipated matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Rams didn't exactly go as planned for star quarterback Kyler Murray.
In a 34-11 blowout loss, the 24-year-old Cardinals QB had his playoff inexperience on full display -- throwing for just 137 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown).
This horrendous performance from Murray provided an easy target for jokesters around the league. Fans and analysts everywhere took to Twitter to poke fun at the signal caller's dual-sport background.
In addition to being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Murray was also selected as the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft.
After starting the 2021 regular season at 7-0, Kyler Murray and the Cardinals finished the year by losing six of their final 10 games. This embarrassing playoff loss was a disappointing end to season that once had such high hopes.
While plenty of people were quick to joke about Murray's return to baseball, his NFL career has been more than impressive. Before the Cardinals drafted him, they went 3-13 in the 2018 season. Since then, the dual-sport star has brought the franchise improved performances each season -- ending with this year's first playoff appearance since 2015.
With this and his $35 million contract in mind, it's hard to imagine Murray leaving the NFL anytime soon.
