It's a big day in Denver Broncos land as a new era is set to begin.
The Broncos hired Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett on Thursday, passing over other top-notch candidates like Dan Quinn.
Since the hire, Broncos fans have been seeking out as much information on Hackett as possible. And, of course, fans couldn't help but notice the numbers Blake Bortles put up when Hackett was his offensive coordinator in Jacksonville.
Bortles put up career numbers with Hackett at the helm of the Jaguars offense. The veteran quarterback even led Jacksonville to the AFC Championship. The Broncos may have gotten a good one.
"Nathaniel Hackett has not only been to a conference championship game with Aaron Rodgers, but he’s taken BLAKE BORTLES to a conference championship game too," a fan said.
"Hackett was made a scapegoat in Jacksonville," another commented. "He got Blake Bortles to a title game and Rodgers now loves him. Does that mean Rodgers is on the way? Unless Denver fixes the QB position, it’s a big challenge. If not Rodgers, then who?"
"When Blake Bortles takes the Broncos to another AFC Championship a year from now, the world is going to lose its collective mind," one fan said.
Who knows? Maybe Hackett will make a run at Blake Bortles to be the Broncos' next quarterback. He had success with him before.
The ultimate wish, however, is that Hackett is somehow able to land Aaron Rodgers in a trade.
