">Houston Chronicle, former NFL quarterback Josh McCown is the favorite to become the next head coach of the Texans.

"McCown, who spent time with 12 organizations in his 19-year career as a quarterback, is a favorite of executive vice president of football operations Jack Easterby," McClain writes. "Obviously, Caserio likes McCown too, or he wouldn't have brought him in for a second interview in two weeks."

Even though McCown has no coaching experience beyond the high school level, he has impressed many people inside the Texans' building.

Last year, the Texans interviewed McCown before ultimately hiring David Culley as their head coach. They clearly liked him enough to bring him in for a pair of interviews this cycle.

McCown isn't the only candidate who is on the Texans' radar. The team is set to interview Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon for a second time this weekend.

Hiring a coach without any experience at the NFL level would be a bold move by the Texans, but it does sound like the front office is all in on McCown.

It's unclear when the Texans' coaching search will come to an end.
