Speculation about Jim Harbaugh's potential return to the National Football League is continuing to grow on Sunday.
Harbaugh admitted earlier this week that he appreciates the rumors swirling about him more than the ones that were swirling last year (when he was on the hot seat at Michigan).
The Michigan Wolverines head coach hasn't said much else, but reports continue to suggest that he could have interest in an NFL job.
According to a report from the New York Daily News, one job in particular is intriguing to the former San Francisco 49ers head coach.
From the report:
When I first heard Jim Harbaugh’s name being bandied about during this hiring cycle, I thought it was a leverage play by Harbaugh to squeeze Michigan for more money coming off a College Football Playoff berth.
But I was extremely interested to learn from reliable sources that 1) Harbaugh’s NFL interest is genuine and that 2) the Giants’ vacancy intrigues him and he’d pick up the phone if they called.
Harbaugh has yet to receive a contract extension at Michigan, so perhaps he's still working on that, or maybe he really is considering a jump to the NFL.
It's going to be an interesting couple of weeks on the NFL coaching carousel.
