Tom Brady's NFL career is in the books.

The NFL legend retired on Tuesday morning, ending a month's worth of speculation.

Since his announcement, other NFL legends have been sending Brady heartfelt messages of support and congratulations.

John Elway is the latest to weigh in on Brady's announcement. He had a classy message for No. 12, calling him a "true winner."

"When I think about Tom Brady, he’s a true winner who handled himself with class throughout his entire career," Elway said on Twitter. "Even with those seven Super Bowl rings, he never lost that competitive fire to be the best. Congratulations, @TomBrady, on a tremendous career!"

"True winner" is the perfect way to describe Tom Brady.

Brady could have called it a career after winning a sixth Super Bowl with the New England Patriots. But he wanted to prove he was still capable of winning it all without Bill Belichick by his side.

He stunned the NFL world by winning the Super Bowl in his first year with the Buccaneers.

The NFL will never be the same without Brady. We wish him all the best in his retirement.
