Johnny Manziel made his return to the football field on Saturday night.

The former Heisman Trophy winner turned NFL Draft first round pick has been out of the sport for a couple of years. However, Manziel decided to make a comeback this year, playing in a new fan-controlled indoor league.

“A big reason I’m here is I’m a little bored,” Manziel said, according to USA Today. “I’ve been playing golf five days a week, hanging with my boys and playing cards and running around Scottsdale having a blast with a great group of friends that I’ve acquired out there. But I don’t have much of a schedule unless I create one, and I haven’t really created one.”

Whatever the reason is, Manziel created some excitement on Saturday night. The football world had fun watching him back on the field.

Sports business insider Darren Rovell had some details on the new league. There were two games on Saturday night, which aired on Twitch. Manziel is the league's most-notable player, though there are some other former college standouts.

The league will run for the next couple of weeks, with every game taking place at the indoor facility in Georgia.
