Kendrick Perkins: Best Team In NBA Is 'Not Even Close'

While on ESPN's First Take this Friday morning, Kendrick Perkins revealed which team is the favorite to win the NBA Finals.

Perkins believes the Celtics are the best team in the league. In fact, he doesn't even think another contender should be mentioned in the same sentence as them.

"It's not even close when you compare top-to-bottom," Perkins told the rest of the First Take crew.

Perkins loves the overall depth of the Celtics, that's for sure. It also doesn't hurt that he has a lot of confidence in their dynamic duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.

"When it comes down to who's the favorite to win it all, it's not the Suns, it's not the Clippers, it's not the Warriors. It's the Boston Celtics," Perkins said. "It's because of their depth, it's because of the dynamic duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Think about what Marcus Smart brings to the table when he's on the floor. You talk about a lob threat and defensive anchor in Robert Williams, Al Horford can stretch the floor, and don't make me get started on their bench."

The Celtics defeated the Pacers in overtime on Thursday night to improve their record to 43-17.

If the Celtics are going to earn home-court advantage in the Eastern Conference, they'll need to keep their foot on the gas. After all, the Bucks are just a game behind them in the standings.
