ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit had a blunt message for the college football world on Sunday afternoon.

The 2021-22 College Football Playoff field is set:

  1. No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 4 Cincinnati
  2. No. 2 Michigan vs. No. 3 Georgia

Cincinnati, of course, is the first Group of 5 team to make the College Football Playoff. All along, we've heard from fans suggesting that a Group of 5 team could not make it. Some have gone as far to say that the Group of 5 should just create their own playoff.

Herbstreit had a blunt message for those fans on Sunday morning, reminding them of what they said earlier this year.

Not everyone agrees with Herbstreit, though.

Cincinnati will get to further prove itself in the College Football Playoff.

The two College Football Playoff semifinal contests are set to air on New Year's Eve.
