In honor of Mamba Day, the Lakers had exciting news to share with their fans regarding the late Kobe Bryant.

The Lakers announced that a bronze statue of Bryant will be unveiled outside of Crypto Arena on February 8.

This statue should allow Bryant's legacy in Los Angeles to live on for generations to come.

The Lakers shared this news Thursday with a video featuring Vanessa Bryant.

"As you know, Kobe played his entire 20-year career as a Los Angeles Laker. Since arriving in the city and joining the Lakers organization, he felt at home here, playing in the City of Angels," Vanessa Bryant said. " On behalf of the Lakers, my daughters, and me, I am so honored, that right in the center of Los Angeles, in front of the place known as "The House that Kobe Built," we are going to unveil a statue, so that his legacy can be celebrated forever. Hope to see you there."

Basketball fans around the world believe this is the right move. Bryant spent his entire career with the Lakers and gave the organization every ounce of energy he had.

While we'll forever miss Kobe Bryant, it's nice to know that his contributions to the game of basketball will never be forgotten.
