Lamar Jackson's flip into the end zone against the Kansas City Chiefs may wind up being one of the indelible images of the 2021 NFL season. Unfortunately, it looks like it may have had its consequences as well.

On Tuesday, Jackson admitted he was "kind of sore" after the flip. However, he didn't rule out doing it again.

It's hard to blame him for the excitement. Jackson hadn't taken down the Chiefs during his NFL career. He said that beating Patrick Mahomes and the former Super Bowl champs felt like "getting a monkey off their back" for he and the Baltimore Ravens.

Today, however, Jackson missed practice. It is probably precautionary, and a player of Jackson's stature deserves the rest when he feels like he needs it. Still, it is a concern. His former teammate Robert Griffin III isn't overly worried. He thinks Jackson has more than earned the day off.

Hopefully this is all very precautionary, because missing a week of Lamar Jackson under center would be a real shame, and we don't want to see players afraid to express themselves. He may want to keep things on the ground next time he scores a huge, narrative-shifting touchdown though.

On the year, Lamar Jackson has completed 66.1-percent of his throws for 474 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. His 8.5 yards per attempt is current a career high. He also has 193 yards and two scores on the ground, averaging 6.9 yards per attempt.

He and the Ravens are on the road at the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.
