Say what you will about Aaron Rodgers, but you can't deny that the man loves to take digs at just about anyone when the opportunity to presents itself. This week, he had Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady in his sights.
In a recent feature for SportsNet, Rodgers was playing "Drone Jeopardy" with show host Cabbie Richards. He was tasked with throwing footballs at drones in order to answer clues for the game.
But when he got his mits around one of the balls, Rodgers decided to take a not-so-subtle dig at Brady and his former New England Patriots. He joked that the ball was too hard - a reference to the 2014 deflategate scandal.
“This is too firm for the Patriots," Rodgers said.
Tom Brady was at the center of a scandal involving deflated footballs during the 2014 AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts. The Patriots won the game and went on to win the Super Bowl.
But in the aftermath of "Deflategate," Brady was suspended for four games in 2015. His legacy has since recovered thanks to three more Super Bowl wins.
Nevertheless, you'll be hard-pressed to find someone who isn't willing to poke at Brady's Deflategate mishap.
Turnabout is fair play though. If Rodgers wants to take a shot at Brady for his shortcomings, he shouldn't be surprised if Brady decides to do the same. And after some of Rodgers' actions in 2021, Brady has a lot of options at his disposal.
