Look: NFL Star Not Happy With New Idea For Games
The NFL has a tendency to copy popular ideas that work well in other sports leagues. But one thing that recently became popular in the XFL has an NFL star practically up in arms.
Over the weekend, some NFL fans reposted a video of the mic'd up huddle from the XFL's Guardians-Brahmas game. When ProFootballTalk suggested that the NFL mic up the huddles for more content, New England Patriots defender Matthew Judon put his foot down.
"Dear @ProFootballTalk STFU. this wouldn’t be good for anyone. At all y’all hear enough," Judon wrote.
Judon hardly seems to be alone with this take as many fans have replied with agreement and some strong reasons that the NFL should avoid having microphones active during the huddles. But more than a few said that they would still want to hear what's said in the huddles regardless:
"Naaahhh, there are certain things that don't need to be heard!! They definitely have a enough mics LOL," one user replied.
"Ily Judon but this would be great for the fans. I’m not sure how this would impact the game, and it’s not like they have to play everything," wrote another.
"Seems like a good way for the league to start monetizing players cussing fines," a third wrote.
"After this tweet. We need to know more," a fourth said.
Do you think the NFL should start having huddles mic'd up?
