A soccer star for Manchester United has reportedly been accused of assaulting a woman.

Mason Greenwood, a standout footballer for the English football club, has been accused of assaulting a young woman.

According to BBC, "video, photos, and an audio recording were posted on the woman's Instagram account before being deleted." The police have reportedly been made aware of the allegations.

Manchester United has suspended Greenwood pending a future update on the allegations.

"Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice," a statement from the club reads.

Greater Manchester Police also released a statement.

"Greater Manchester Police is aware of images and video circulating on social media. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."

Manchester United had released a statement earlier on Sunday prior to the suspension decision.

"We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media," the club said.

"We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind."
