Sports books have a habit of revealing things well before news outlets get their hands on big stories and a big change for Michigan in the sports books occurred just before news of their alleged sign stealing broke.

According to Darren Rovell of The Action Network, Michigan became the new co-favorite to win the college football national championship on the FanDuel Sportsbook app. They are now listed as +270, tied with No. 1 Georgia for the top odds in the sports book.

Michigan has been dominant all season and has received at least one first-place vote from the Associated Press in every top 25 ranking poll since the preseason.

The timing of this change in the odds is interesting to say the least. But there probably isn't a correlation since an announcement like that would most likely lower a team's odds, not boost it.

The NCAA is reportedly investigating Michigan over allegations of sign stealing but investigations like that take time - a lot of time.

It could be months or even upwards of a year before the NCAA concludes its investigation and publishes the findings.

In that time, Michigan could win the national championship.

Let's hope that whatever Michigan does accomplish this year isn't tainted by cheating.
