Nikola Jokic has transformed himself into one of the best players in the NBA but not everyone thought he would get to that level, including Julius Randle.

During a recent episode of Paul George's podcast titled "Podcast P," Randle admitted that he wrote Jokic off when he first came into the league before it all changed. He originally thought Jokic was just a "slow and fat" guy.

“The Joker, bro. I remember that. I remember, like, my second year, and we had played against him, and I’m just like because he was killing. I’m like, man, why is this dude a killer? Slow, fat. He ain’t nice like that, right? It’s in my head, bro. He came and played here and scored like 25. I’m like, man, how the hell this happened, bro? It’s crazy. You talk about getting better. It’s crazy to see him," Randle said, (first transcribed by Outkick).

Jokic is fresh off leading the Nuggets to their first NBA title. He was the MVP of the NBA Finals and did it all for them, averaging 30 points and 13.5 rebounds per game.

Those numbers were better than his regular season ones when he averaged 24.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game.

There's no doubt he'll be gunning for more next season.
