NFL GM Has Brutally Honest Comment On Antonio Brown Situation
The Antonio Brown situation in Oakland could be reaching a tipping point following this evening's developments.
Brown skipped Raiders practice this evening, as the All-Pro wide receiver continues to be upset with the NFL's handling of his helmet situation.
The Raiders' GM, Mike Mayock, sent Brown a stern message this evening.
“AB is not here today,” Mayock said. “Here’s the bottom line: He’s upset about the helmet issue. We have supported that, we appreciate that. But at this point, we’ve pretty much exhausted all avenues of relief. So from our perspective, it’s time for him to be all in or all out. We’re hoping he’s back soon. We’ve got 89 guys busting their tails. We are really excited about where this franchise is going, and we’re hoping AB is going to be a big part of it, starting Week One against Denver. End of story, no questions.”
It's a disastrous situation for a Raiders team that made the bold move to trade for Brown this offseason.
One anonymous GM said the following to NFL insider Mike Freeman:
“This is uncharted territory,” he said.
The Raiders are roughly three weeks away from beginning the 2019 NFL regular season, as Oakland opens the year on Monday night, Sept. 9.
Will Brown be on the field when that game takes place?
At this point, that is looking up in the air.
