NFL World Reacts To Lamar Jackson Update

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson injury.

The Baltimore Ravens plan to franchise tag Lamar Jackson if the two sides can't come to a longterm contract agreement at some point this offseason, per NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

More importantly, Pelissero reports that prospective teams "could tempt Baltimore to trade" Jackson if they give up a "windfall" of future draft picks.

"The Ravens could tag Jackson and explore options for a trade, with surely no shortage of suitors for one of the NFL's most dynamic talents. Jackson would effectively have veto power over his destination, since he'd need to sign the franchise tender to complete the deal and any team giving up the level of compensation would want to work out a contract," Pelissero writes.

The NFL world took to Twitter to react to these reports.

"Watch when my boy get traded watch the receivers flock to him gonna be beautiful," one fan wrote.

"The sky is blue. Grass is green. The ravens were always going to tag Lamar if no extension by the deadline. Water is wet," another added.

"GIVE HIM ALL THE MONEY HE WANTS," another wrote.

Jackson, 26, just played out the final season of his rookie deal with the Ravens organization. The former league MVP is reportedly looking for the fully-guaranteed money in line with Deshaun Watson's deal with the Cleveland Browns.

Jackson's non-exclusive franchise tag would be worth $32.416 million.
