NFL World Reacts To The Jeff Garcia Drama

Former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia is being put on blast this week for his comments about ESPN analyst Mina Kimes. It's fair to say he went a bit too far with his criticism.

Kimes recently stated that 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is pretty much along for the ride this playoff run. While that's sort of true, Garcia didn't appreciate that Kimes made that comment.

As a result, Garcia unleashed a harsh rant on Instagram regarding Kimes and her lack of NFL experience.

"Who the hell is Mina Kimes and when is the last time she threw a touchdown pass in a game? Never! Ever! has she taken a snap or can truly understand the ability, the mindset, the physical and mental toughness, that it takes to play the QB position or any position in the NFL," Garcia wrote. "The fact that there are people out there given a platform to talk about something that they have never done is hilarious and that's how you have to look at her, she's a joke! So let's just laugh at her and support Jimmy, root on our Niners to go out and beat the living f--k out of one more team. That's what it takes. She will never know that feeling. Can I get an amen? Peace."

The idea that Kimes shouldn't talk about football because she hasn't played at the NFL level is ridiculous. At the end of the day, she's a very intelligent analyst who has built a large following by herself.

Since she's one of the most beloved analysts working for ESPN today, Kimes received a lot of support from 49ers fans on Twitter this week.

"Jeff Garcia is an embarrassment," one fan said. "This is why nobody respects him and why he’s BEGGED to be a part of a franchise that wants no part of him. This has nothing to do with 'never taking a snap.' This has everything to do with Mina being a woman and Jeff being a misogynist caveman."

"Same ole lazy misogyny," another fan said. "One coach making a video calling her a broad. Jeff Garcia pulling the 'she never played the game' card. Give me a break. You don't have to be Bill Belichick to see a guy with 2 TD, 5 TOs may not be the driving force of a team winning."

"Ugh, Jeff. Be better. Not that she needs my help, but Mina Kimes has a bigger platform than you because she's a better analyst than you are," a third fan tweeted.

There's just no room in sports for this type of take.

Kimes should be allowed to state her unbiased opinion on the 49ers without having to worry about getting crushed by Garcia.
