The Seattle Seahawks will have a new center for the 2023 season.

Starting center Austin Blythe, who was scheduled to be a free agent in a couple of weeks, announced his retirement at the age of 30 on Tuesday.

"The last 7 years have been nothing short of amazing. For a short, unathletic, undersized kid from Iowa, I’ve played a lot of football, met countless coaches and teammates that I can call friends, and made enough memories for myself and my family to last a lifetime. I am so grateful, and extremely blessed, to have played the game for any amount of time, let alone 7 years. The game has been a huge part of our lives for the last 12 years, dating all the way back to college. For everything the game has taught me about life, I will cherish it forever," part of Blythe's statement on Instagram read.

Fans are already wishing him well in retirement.

"Watched Austin Blythe in high school play my high school team and the first play of the game he put one of our lineman about 8 yards in the backfield almost immediately. Congrats on the career, Austin!" another fan tweeted.

"Austin Blythe retires. Wish you the best in your health and family time," another tweet read.

We'll have to see who will replace Blythe.
