Troy Aikman's No. 1 team in the National Football League through the first two weeks of the regular season is a surprising one.

The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback turned FOX analyst has his own proprietary set of rankings. The rankings update each week of the regular season.

Heading into Week 3, the No. 1 team in the NFL - according to Aikman's rankings, anyway - is the Denver Broncos.

Denver is 2-0 with wins over the New York Giants and the Jacksonville Jaguars. That's not an incredibly impressive combination of wins. However, the Broncos have looked pretty good through the first two weeks of the year.

Broncos fans understand it's early, but they still appreciate the love.

"Thanks for the "LOVE" Troy it's been a while so us Bronco fans are thirsty for some!! Even if it's too soon to tell!!" one fan tweeted.

Others, meanwhile, aren't very convinced.

"Aikman has had so many concussions and his ranking proves. Poor guy so sad....." another fan wrote.

The Broncos have the No. 1 defense in the league by a wide margin, according to Aikman's rankings. And Teddy Bridgewater has been a steady presence for the offense, even reminding Von Miller of Peyton Manning.

“I kind of forgot that I was mic’d up,” Miller said of his comparison. “I don’t like putting stuff out there. That was a moment for me and Teddy, but it’s out there. I don’t want anybody to feel a certain way because I told Teddy that. I told Teddy the truth. He definitely has this this vibe about him that guys want to play for. Guys believe in Teddy. He’s a veteran in this league. He’s sat behind Drew Brees. He was on track to win MVP with the Minnesota Vikings, so he knows how to do it. He carries himself in a way that people want to play for him, and people believe in him.”

Still, the Broncos have plenty of reasons to be optimistic moving forward.

Denver will look to move to 3-0 on Sunday against the New York Jets.
