Jason McIntyre has revealed some massive news on 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo going into this weekend's playoff game.

McIntyre reported on Tuesday afternoon that there have been lots of rumors that Garoppolo's hand and shoulder are not in good shape.

He then went on to say that it could take Garoppolo out of starting against the Packers on Saturday.

Garoppolo is coming off a not-so-good performance against the Cowboys this past Sunday. He finished with 172 yards through the air with no touchdowns and one interception. It's certainly possible that the injuries are playing a toll, but he never had to leave the game once while San Francisco was on its way to advancing. The NFL world doesn't seem to believe McIntyre's full story here.

If Garoppolo is unable to go, rookie Trey Lance would be in line to start.

Lance played in six games during the regular season and finished with 603 passing yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions.

This will be the first playoff meeting between these two teams since January of 2020 when the 49ers beat the Packers to get to the Super Bowl.

Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET.
