On Wednesday afternoon, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn reportedly made a decision on the Jacksonville Jaguars head coaching opening.
Quinn was named as one of six candidates the Jaguars wanted to talk to. However, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Quinn does not plan to talk to the Jaguars during the two-week period before the playoffs begin.
That's a likely sign that he's not interested in the Jaguars job. Of course, that led to plenty of fan reaction.
"It’s never good when a coach doesn’t even want to interview for the job opening," one person said.
Cowboys fans are glad he's not going anywhere - not yet, at least.
"That's my DC," said another fan.
One analyst noted that Quinn likely wants to be selective with his next head coaching opportunity.
"One theory: Dan Quinn has been around a while and an NFL head coach before. Doesn't want to blow his second (and possibly last) shot on the Jags. Also probably means he knows he'll have options," the analyst said.
Earlier this week, Quinn made it clear he wasn't focused on potential head coaching opportunities elsewhere.
"I wasn’t coming here to look for what my next job would be," Quinn said. "I wanted to come in here, have a blast and hopefully kick ass. If they [head coaching opportunities] come, I’ll be ready for them. But I’m having a blast being right here with this crew and going for it."
Where will Quinn land next?
