The PGA Tour's mega-season finally came to a close on Sunday afternoon at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. Patrick Cantlay outlasted John Rahm to win the Tour Championship and take the title of 2021 FedEx Cup Champion.
Cantlay battled his way to a one-under, 69 on Sunday to hold onto his lead that he entered the weekend with. He birdied the par-five, 18th hole to hold off Rahm by one stroke, and claim his fourth tournament win of the season, along with $15 million in prize money.
With the Tour Championship in the books, the 2020-21 PGA Tour has finally come to a close. 360 days ago, the super season began at the Safeway Open and 52 events later the year is finally finished. The world's best golfers played in six major championships and the Tokyo Olympics during that span.
Former professional golfer and PointsBet Ambassador Paige Spiranac loved what she saw, both at the Tour Championship and on the PGA Tour this year. Already, she's looking forward to the Ryder Cup later this month.
"What a great year of golf. Can’t wait for the Ryder Cup," Spiranac

Spiranac won't be the only one excited to witness the return of the Ryder Cup. The event was postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but will be back in less than three weeks at Whistling Straits. Fans will surely be on hand to cheer for their respective sides.
Cantlay will be one of the members of the American team, while Rahm will undoubtedly lead the way for Europe. The captains have yet to make their final picks just yet, but the two sides will be finalized in the coming days.
In the meantime, golf fans can look back on an incredible season that was and start to get excited for a new year in a few months.
