It's a bad day to be an Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
The No. 2 Buckeyes controlled their destiny heading into Saturday's rivalry clash against the No. 5 Michigan Wolverines. A win and they'd cement their spot in the Big Ten Championship with eyes on the College Football Playoff. A loss was never under consideration.
Michigan dominated Ohio State at the line of scrimmage and came away with a 42-27 win in Ann Arbor. The Buckeyes are out of both the Big Ten Championship and probably just saw their playoff hopes obliterated.
It's a sad day to be an Ohio State fan. One fan in particular went viral for the following picture:
Yikes. Talk about a rough outing for Ohio State and its fans.
This is an even more humiliating loss when you recall what Ryan Day had to say about the Michigan game earlier this week.
He admitted his team thinks about the Wolverines all season long.
“We always have one eye on (Michigan), it’s just the way we do business,” Day said. “You can’t be crazy about it, because it can distract from the task at hand during the season.”
Ohio State is going to have a long couple of weeks here. It won't play in the Big Ten Championship and needs an unprecedented amount of help to get into the College Football Playoff.
All the Buckeyes can do these next few weeks is hope for chaos.
