Sports Book Names 'Worst' Super Bowl Betting Scenario
Sports betting has taken over many parts of the nation, and the craze will be on full display for Sunday's Super Bowl.
Millions of fans around the country are set to wager billions of dollars on the big game, but one scenario has a particular oddsmaker sweating.
Seamus Magee of BetMGM says Travis Kelce scoring the game's first touchdown and a narrow Eagles victory would be a result the sports book would "lose sleep" over.
Taking a look at BetMGM's odds, it's clear to see why.
A bet on Kelce scoring the game's first touchdown is currently at +350. That means a bet of $10 would return a $35 payout if the Chiefs tight end is the first player to cross the goal line.
The Eagles are currently favored to win the game outright at -125, which wouldn't cause the book a lot of problems.
Margin of victory and final score are where things get interesting.
A $10 bet on an Eagles win by 1-6 points is set at +325, while a bet on the exact final score of 37-34 in favor of the Eagles is set at an astronomical +8000.
Do the math there, and you'll end up with a hefty sum - and a payout BetMGM is hoping they won't need to honor.
