Kentucky head football coach Mark Stoops is being scrutinized by the wider football world after he seemingly instructed one of his players to fake an injury in order to buy his team some time.

During today's game against in-state rival Louisville, Stoops was caught on camera telling a player to fake a hamstring injury to allow time for a fumble review. The video shows him looking right at a player, waving his hands around for attention, and grabbing his hamstring to mimic an injury (when he was clearly fine).

It's a rather desperate move for a Wildcats team that is hoping to avoid their sixth loss in the last seven games.

Fans on social media were not at all amused by Stoops' antics, though some believe it's being overblown since others do it:

"My friends keep telling me to let it go, but I still don't see why this is okay," one user wrote.

"Like louisville and every other team in college football hasnt done it. All it is--a fan base worried bout loosing cause they & their conf is overrated," another complained.

It's been an interesting day for Mark Stoops. He has emerged as a leading candidate to take the vacant Texas A&M head coaching job, which would end his tenure at Kentucky after 11 seasons.

Will this be Stoops' final game at Kentucky?

The game is being played on ABC.
