Melania Trump Finally Reacts To 'Devastating' Los Angeles Wildfires
Donald Trump has been quite vocal about the California wildfires. It wasn't until Friday, however, that former first lady Melania Trump commented on this tragedy.
So far, the wildfires in Los Angeles have reportedly burned more than 10,000 homes and structures. It's been reported that 10 people have been killed. Unfortunately, California residents aren't in the clear yet. There are serious concerns about another flareup due to the forecast for this weekend. As of now, meteorologists are expecting hurricane-force winds on Sunday.
Although the interview hasn't aired yet, Melania appeared on "Fox & Friends" to talk about the tragedy in California.
"It's devastating. I'm thinking about those people, and I pray for them," Melania said. "I just hope that everybody evacuated and that they are safe, and I hope that the government and FEMA is there to help them."
President-elect Donald Trump had a much different take on this week's tragedy. He went on Truth Social to rip California Gov. Gavin Newsom for his role in all of this.
"Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way. He wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called a smelt, by giving it less water (it didn’t work!), but didn’t care about the people of California. Now the ultimate price is being paid. I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA! He is the blame for this. On top of it all, no water for fire hydrants, not firefighting planes. A true disaster," Trump wrote.
There are countless people praying for California right now just like Melania. It's so heartbreaking to see people lose their homes over something they have zero control of.
Our thoughts are with those impacted by the wildfires raging across Los Angeles County.
