Melania Trump Turns Heads With Outfit At Jimmy Carter's Funeral

Former first lady Melania Trump attended former President Jimmy Carter's state funeral this Thursday in the nation's capital. She was spotted at the service alongside President-elect Donald Trump.

Melania, 54, wore a black Valentino dress coat to Carter's funeral this morning. According to Vogue, the coat that she was wearing had a neoclassical sculpture of kissing lovers printed on the collar. It was originally introduced at Valentino's fall show in 2019. Unsurprisingly, the public had an awful lot to say about the former first lady's outfit.

For the most part, people complimented Melania's coat. Some social media users claim it was over the top, but it's a classy look.

As for Donald Trump, he wore a standard black suit with a royal blue tie. He was spotted sitting next to former President Barack Obama.

Prior to this Thursday's funeral service, Trump issued a statement about Carter's legacy.

"I just heard of the news about the passing of President Jimmy Carter. Those of us who have been fortunate to have served as President understand this is a very exclusive club, and only we can relate to the enormous responsibility of leading the Greatest Nation in History," Trump said. "The challenges Jimmy faced as President came at a pivotal time for our country and he did everything in his power to improve the lives of all Americans. For that, we all owe him a debt of gratitude.

"Melania and I are thinking warmly of the Carter Family and their loved ones during this difficult time. We urge everyone to keep them in their hearts and prayers."

Carter served as the governor of Georgia before becoming president of the United States. As of now, he's the only president in U.S. history to reach the age of 100.

Our thoughts are with the Carter family at this time.
