U.S. Man Killed In Terrifying Snow Plow Accident
A U.S. man has been killed in at terrifying snow plow accident over the weekend.
Heavy snowstorms and ice have hit much of the United States this week. Kansas City, Missouri has been hit by more than a foot of snow. The Washington, D.C. area has been hit with four to eight inches. Snow began to fall in New York City on Monday afternoon.
The storms began earlier this weekend. On Saturday, a Pennsylvania man died in a terrifying snowplow accident.
A man in Pennsylvania died when his SUV collided with a snowplow in Greenfield Township, Erie County.
The accident reportedly occurred on Route 89, south of Townline Road, at close to 2 p.m. E.T.
The SUV, made by Jeep, reportedly collided with a snowplow. The driver was reportedly 74-years-old and going north, while the 19-year-old snowplow driver was going south.
The driver of the snowplow was reportedly not injured.
NPR had reported that at least four people are dead from the heavy storms this week:
In Kansas, where blizzard warnings had been issued across the state over the weekend, at least three people have died in car crashes, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
At least one person has died and more than 30 people have been injured in Missouri, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Missouri is among the states warning travelers.
"Snow is still making its way out of the state, but don't expect conditions to improve quickly – if you saw snow and ice fall yesterday, continue to AVOID TRAVELING today," the Missouri Department of Transportation wrote in a social media post on Monday. "Our crews are still hard at work, but cleanup will take awhile in these conditions."
